Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation Commission (VA&R)

The California American Legion Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation Commission (VA&R) maintains an extensive network 21 professionally accredited Veteran Service Officers (VSO’s) who are officially recognized by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to provide representation and assistance to veterans and their dependents. Their services are offered free of charge, regardless of whether a veteran belongs to the The American Legion. VSO’s are located in many counties in California.Find a Service Officer

California Amercian Legion Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation Foundation (CALVAR)

The California American Legion Veterans Affairs and Rehabilitation (CALVAR) Foundation is a California Charitable Corporation and tax exempt 501 (c)(3) Corporation established to seek and collect tax-deductible donations that will be used exclusively to fund the Department of California Veterans Affairs and Rehabilitation Commission.

The VA&R Division receives no government funding or subsidy. Current funding is voluntarily donated by California American Legion members and their families. These donations are collected from several fundraising campaigns conducted by our Ways & Means Commision.
